A Little Background Information

Hello World! My name is Jake Craige. I am a 20 year old college student looking to get into the field of web design and development. I will be creating websites more as a hobby than a full time job but would love for it to develop into a career. This area of programming has always interested me because I can easily see my results and they can be viewed on any platform around the world. Internet programs and apps are becoming more and more prevalent in technology so it's a good area to get into.

When you have a website on the internet, search engines will have their "spiders" crawl your website and put it into their database. Once it's in there, when people search topics related to your site, it will come up in the results. A business looks very professional when they have a good looking website that people can access. When you see a new company that you are interested in, the first thing you look for is their website on a search engine. If it doesn't come up than you would usually turn to another business because their information is more easily accessable.

Once the site is online and in the search engines, anyone in the world can view it 24/7. This means that day and night, people are able to find out information about your business and its services whenever they want to, and you don't have to put forward uneccessary effort or waste extra money for this to happen.

I am very affordable compared to more experienced web designers and can offer you a great website for a fraction of the cost. I am doing this because I enjoy doing it and I am looking for more experience to put on a resume and to learn.

I have been working full time for over 1 year now and have been attending college full time at the same time. I have been working part time for another year prior. I am experienced in the professional work place and will be professional and courteous with whatever you request.

I am a very friendly guy and easy to get along with. While I will remain professional I also don't mind joking around a bit and having fun. That's why I'm doing this. So don't think you have to be completely formal around me all the time.

I enjoy doing this and it's the primary reason I want to do it more and become more experienced. Because of this I am always learning new technqiues and new skills that apply to this field and will always bring the newest technology to the table.

Each site I create is personally created for you. It will be unique and there won't be others like it out there. I don't use any templates or "wysiwig" editors to create it. I don't use normally use blogging software but if you would like me to use one like wordpress, joomla, drupal, etc, I do have experience with those and can still provide you with a great site.
